The 13th NCHU-GMT Capstone Competition for Precision Machine Tools and Intelligent Manufacturing Technology

Objective

The machine tool industry in Taiwan plays an important role in the world.  To continuously upgrade the performance of machine tools and the production efficiency of manufacturing systems, an annual capstone project competition has been held since 2011 to encourage students to devote to the practical research on the advanced technology of machine tools, and promote the implementation of innovative smart technology for machine tool industry in Taiwan. This event is organized together by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Chung Hsing University and Goodway Machine Corp. Group.  In the competition, students would demonstrate what they accomplished and learned from the projects including the problem analysis, innovative solution, system design and integration, and teamwork, with emphasis on both of theory and practical implementation, as well as presenting and sharing the technology to others. In addition, the other main goal of this event is to build the opportunities of learning, idea exchanging and experience sharing among schools from domestics and overseas.  With the increasing demands for smart manufacturing, the project topics regarding to intelligent manufacturing technologies are highly encouraged for the competition, along with the precision machine tool related topics.
